RHO-TECH was awarded the opportunity to provide and install the HDPE piping for this project, as well as facilitating other proposals from the consulting engineers. It's reported than 4000 commercial vessels visit Durban Harbour each year, with container traffic growing at a rate of 8% per year. The Durban Harbour Expansion project aims to upgrade existing facilities and to increase capacity for Africa's busiest port.
Mahatma Gandhi Drive Project
RHO-TECH was awarded the contract to design, manufacture and install all the glass fibre reinforced (GRP) elements for the safety and finishing of the Mahatma Gandhi Drive pump station roof. The roof and balustrades, which comprise 98% fibreglass, ensure longevity of the structure and low-maintenance - particularly important given its proximity to the ocean and exposure to corrosive sea air.
